No dessert name for this Android version:

Since Android 1.5 Cupcake every version of Android has a tasty dessert name, however, things appear to be changing and now Google is officially done with dessert names and opted for the simple numerical naming scheme. So the new version is named Android 10.

App permissions got an overhaul:

In light of the recent events, Privacy became the biggest concern of this time. With Android 10 Google is implementing the features by which we can get better control of the device by controlling the permissions. Now, a pop-up will ask whether you want the app to access your location all the time, only when used or new.
Settings UI has been completely updated especially "Permissions usage" and "App info" page.

Farewell time for the back button:

Android's iconic back button is officially going away with Android 10.
Android 10 is now featuring full gesture-based navigation. It also allows degrading to Android Pie's two-button and traditional three-button array. It is unclear if the devices like Pixel 4 which are shipped with Android can degrade but for sure old devices that are upgraded to Android 10 will be able to use this feature.

Check out the new share menu:

Previously Android share menu was a bit laggy irrespective of the device, you are using but in Android 10 the issue is resolved to share UI can load immediately when it is launched because shortcuts are already published.
Android 10 introduces "Sharing Shortcuts". It allows developers to create a new option in the menu that can share files in a specific part of another app faster than before.

Dark Mode is official:

After waiting for a long time Android introduced OS-based Dark mode that can be turned on or off via Quick settings toggle.
Google created an API for developers to have their apps go to a dark theme when system-wide Dark Mode is turned on. But definitely, it will take some time to be implemented.

Native support for Foldable Phones:

As we see big Android mobile sellers Samsung and Huawei launched their foldable devices Google is making sure that these devices get all the support from OS end. So Google optimized Android 10 for foldable devices also.

Some new theming options:

Android's one of the best features is that you can fully customize your device and with Android 10 you'll get more freedom in customization by more ways available to change your device's look.
In the themes section, you'll be able to change the accent color. The default color is Pixel Blue bit you can change it to following colors:
·         Black
·         Green
·         Purple
·         Cinnamon
·         Ocean
·         Space
·         Orchid

Live Caption:

Closed captions are one of the most important features for people with hearing issues to understand what is said in any video, podcast, game or any form of media in which words are spoken. Android 10 comes with the "Live Captions" feature which provides real-time captions for almost anything on your phone where someone's talking, and the most important point is that it happens on your device you don't need any internet connection for it.

Initially supported devices:

The final version has been released on 3rd September 2019.
It began with Google's Pixel devices including their newest Pixel 3a and way back to the original Pixel released in 2016. Other devices such as Samsung, Huawei, etc will be released for their devices soon probably by October although there is no confirmed information yet.
