Uber Introduced New Security Feature |
Introduction:
As technology is improving it's giving a lot of the advantage to everyone whether the person is criminal or an innocent soul. As technology improves the creators are always busy trying to make it secure as much as possible.
While using ride-hailing services you need to be careful in matching driver and rider profile. So you do not start traveling with the wrong driver or with any person not associated with that specific ride-hailing services. While taking rides at night it's really difficult to match exact ride details.
Feature and it's working:
Uber has introduced a brand new feature to provide additional security, which has not been implemented by another company so far. Uber will be allocated a unique 4-digit code to the rider (customer) and when he goes to the rider he tells that unique 4-digit pin code to the driver and once the code is matched only then the driver can start the ride. As per reports, Driver will be able to put the code 5 times only if the code is wrong for more than 5 times the ride will be void.
Why Uber took this step:
Uber started to work on this additional security after the murder of the 21-year-old girl in Columbia, South Carolina. The girl boarded the wrong car on 29th March 2019 (last year) at late at night. The driver kidnapped and killed her. The body was found in the field 90 miles from Columbia.
Conclusion:
Ride-hailing services are really helpful for user's but they also sometimes open ways for the criminals as well. The companies are always trying their best to provide maximum security but the users must be careful and carefully check the car plate number, model and driver's picture provided in ride details.
