All you need to Know about Google's Play Books and tricks!

Google the biggest search engine provider had launched Play Books in 2010. A platform for eBooks digital distribution service that is operated by Google. Its also known as Google eBooks.

Main Play Books features

Google Play Books has the following notable features:
  • Online and offline reading
  • PDF or unprotected EPUB files can be uploaded for reading with the Play Books app.
  • Notes, reading positions, and Notes are synced across all devices.
  • Searching words in the dictionary, Wikipedia, or web.
  • Font and theme customizations.
  • Listen to Audio Books 
  • Listen to books with the help of text-to-speech (TTS). Publishers can block this feature so it may not be available for all books.
These days the app comes pre-installed on all android devices however it may not work in some regions but there are always workarounds. (Will be discussed at the end.)

Getting Books

Google Play Books have many books some of them are free as well either Audiobook or eBook.

For free books

You can get any free book from Google Play Books you just have to perform the following steps to get your favorite title:
  • Open Google Play Books app.
  • Find the Book
  • Now if the book is free, just click on the "Get For Free" button. Hurrah! you have got your favorite title for free.

Paid books

Not all books on Google Play Books are free so mostly you'll have to buy a book so to do so you have to follow these steps:
  • Open Google Play Books app.
  • Find the Book
  • Now you'll see 2 options
    • Free sample
    • Buy price
  • Now you can take a look at the sample first if you wish to but ultimately for reading the full book, you have to buy it. So, the easiest way to pay is Google Pay.
  • Setup your Google Pay and buy the book right away. 

Workaround (Trick)

What if you are a Booklover but unfortunately Google Play Books is not available in your country? No worries I've got you covered.
All you have to do is connect with a VPN and open the app you'll be able to grab the book. However, for payments, you'll have to check your regional payment guide for Google Play Store and Play Books. However, for reading free books you just need to use the VPN of a Google Play Books eligible region such as the UK.
